HostGator Has Gone Green

That's right, HostGator has gone green, switching to green energy. I applaud HostGator for making the switch as a environmentally minded consumer, and I am willing to bet they will get a lot of attention because of it.

On my Web Hosting Reviews website I moved HostGator into the number four spot. This is a move up by a position.

Another thing I like about HostGator is that they don't require that you pay for one or two years up front, instead there is a option to pay month to month. You can also pay through PayPal.

I think helping the environment is important and I expect to see a lot of the other hosting companies make the switch as well. Thumbs up from this consumer. Good Job!

IX Web Hosting Review

This is my official first review since starting this blog on Web Hosting Reviews. My first company profile is on IX Web Hosting.

Hosting Company Name: IX Web Hosting
Review Time: 3 Months
Overall Experience: Bad

It did not take long, to notice something wrong about IX Web Hosting. After seeing their name around for several years, I finally decided to give them a try. I am on the net many hours a day and noticed major website lag at times. I was unable to save my html editing because the server I was on became too full.

I thought that if I was transferred to another server within their data center that might change things and free things up. I have received the same lag, as before. Servers usually go down around 12:30 AM PST and are usually down for thirty minutes, every twenty four hours.

Come on boneheads, this is no way to run a hosting business! The only good thing I can say is that they have good customer service, but hardly makes up for all of the bad.

Web Hosting Reviews Launch

I have been in the Web Hosting Reviews business since around 2004. I have hosted hundreds of websites, trying to make some extra dime, trying new things, or just having fun. In that time I have had experience with more than a handful of hosting providers.

I used to own several web hosting reviews type sites. Most of which I sold on ebay about two years ago. I was thinking to myself the other day, that I have a lot of experience and knowledge about a good handful of the web hosting providers out there.

My best friend and I, decided about four years ago to buy hosting from two different hosts and see which was better. That started me down a path to check out as many different web hosting providers possible. I stuck only with the well advertised, bigger companies.

I am launching Web Hosting Reviews providing my top 5 picks, in my experience. Uptime is important, especially when you are working from home.

I am currently hosting with IXWebhosting. Decided to give them a go. And folks...its a no go! So rest assured, just because I try them doesn't mean I like them, and all my reviews are sincere and honest. So check them out on my new Web Hosting Reviews site!
